Distance from Las Vegas to Grand Canyon

The distance from Las Vegas to the west Grand Canyon is 128 miles (the closest rim). It is 280 miles to south Grand Canyon and 270 to the north. For more details, see below.

Driving from Las Vegas to the western, southern and northern Grand Canyon in Arizona

You can see the driving instructions below how to drive to the three different rims in Grand Canyon from Las Vegas.

The Grand Canyon West Rim. (128 miles, 3 to 3.5 hours driving time, Nevada and Arizona)

Drive south on US-93, after about 75 miles turn onto route Pierce Ferry Rd to the community of Dolan Springs. Continue on Diamond Bar Rd (There are signs to Grand Canyon West). The last part is about 30 km on a bumpy gravel road.

The Grand Canyon South Rim. (281 miles, 5 hours driving time, Nevada and Arizona)

Drive south on US-93, after about 165km you will reach the community of Kingman then go east on highway Interstate 40. Take the exit 165 towards the Grand Canyon on the road AZ-64. Follow the road and signs to Grand Canyon National Park.

Grand Canyon’s north rim. (268 miles, 5 hours driving time, Nevada, Arizona and Utah)

Drive north on Interstate 15 toward the town St. George. Follow the road Highway 9, UT-59 and US89 east. Then take the exit Jacob Lake to the Grand Canyon North about AZ-67. Note that the road AZ-67 may be closed some seasons, especially in the winter.
